You can't use task scheduler in Vista due to bug/conflict with UAC

Any known cures/fixes/patches???

In what way does it not work ?
My system scheduled tasks run and two I've added myself also work OK
with UAC set on.

Jethro

Could you give us some more details about this 'bug' ?

If you mean that you cannot use Task Scheduler because it requires
administrator privileges, this is by design, and not a bug.

The task I have set is to run whenever the machine is idle (whether logged
in or not) - maybe the tasks you have created run only whilst you are logged
on

First time i noticed is after the task had been performing perfectly fine
for few days and then stopped - looking at the history it showed the task
halted each time it tried - resetting the task would work for a few more
days then stop, etc - i didn't know why it was stopping until i read a few
articles describing that if you restart the machine, UAC will not allow the
task to perform again

Do you run the task with the "Highest Privileges"?
