I don't use vista much, so i apologize in advance if I give you bad
advice. Under XP you can go into Control Panel, select Administrative
Tools and then click on Services. When the Services applet comes up
scroll down to Task scheduler and do a right click(I'm kinda left
handed, so I always have to stop and think about that.. Context click,
at any rate.) That will bring up a menu where you want to select
Properties and then you can start the service and also verify that the
startup type is set to automatic. Vista has changed quite a few things
in the interface and the times I've tried to use it have left me
rather frustrated. It still has a control panel, tho, so maybe this
will work.
Hope this helps.
