My desktop intermittently messes up making icons not work. The toolbar
disappears where the time is, open programs displayed on the toolbar slide
behind the start button and I lose the start menu. I press the button and
all I see is an empty start menu. Since vista wont actually help anyone
without an outrageous price im hoping ill **** off the vista lovers who might
be able to help me by using this title. and yes it does

I am a uniqe member of this newsgroup....

I also think vista sucks, but I am am the most well educated user in here
about vista.
I will help you and love your insults you are throwing at vista, both at the
same time! :-)

All those problems are related to the display, right click on the desktop
select properties > themes and
chose the classic theme...

see if these problems go away at least with the classic theme ... then the
next step would be for you to tell me

what brand - model your display adaptor (graphic card is) so we can find the
latest driver for it

Yes, he got his certificate from the Concorde Career College

Here is their link if you don't believe it

http://www.trade-schools.net/concord...te/default.asp

Not sure if he got his certificate as a Dental Assistant or Patient Care
Assistant.

When this happens next time do the following:

Log off (without turning the machine off). You may need to do it by pressing
Ctrl+Alt+Del. Log back in. The problem will go away. You will be OK for the
session.

If this happens again, repeat the procedure. After two or three such
maneuvers the problem will go away forever.

This is how I treat one of my Vistas (OEM, brand new). It works.
