I decided to leave UAC on for the time being for this new Vista machine.
One program (my SyncBack program) when run always brings up the nag screen.
Other programs such as my accounting program doesn't. Isn't there a setting
that you can turn off this on individual applications without completely
turning off the UAC. If so, I have yet to find it.

Thanks for any info.

SyncBack obviously needs admin priveleges to run. If you
didn't specify it should run as admin then they've probably
added the relevant information so that Vista knows it need
elevated privileges. I would check with the authors of the
program. But if it does indeed need admin privileges to run
there is little you can about it, UAC is doing it's job.

You might want to check out Sync Toy from Microsoft, it's free and
works great.

The most reliable time to upgrade to a new Operating System is at the
end of its life cycle.
