Vista Ultimate on 64-bit Machine

I tried to uninstall Office 2007 Home and Student Trial Version and
install my Office 2003 Professional edition. I've spent several hours
trying to configure the system appropriately. I seen some posts that
said to disable the UAC. But I would rather run the system as it's
supposed to be configured. Also, I tried removing all the Office
registry entries with the MS registry configuration tool. That seemed
to work. Then I installed Office 2003 Professional.

I installed service pack 1 and service pack 2. Every time I run Word
or Excel, it tells me that Word or Excel is not installed for the
current user. So I use system restore to return the system back to
it's previous state.

So how do I remove Office 2007 Home and Student Trial Version and
install Office 2003 Professional so that it will run on Vista?

By the way, I am logged in as an Admin.

I would add to make one more thing. I have successfully installed
Office 2003 Professional on another machine that is running Windows
Vista Home Premium. In that case, a trial version of Office 2007 was
not installed. Also, it's a 32 bit machine.

Are you logged on as administrator or user with administrative privileges.
There should be no problems uninstalling it from the user it was installed
by, but you may have better luck in safe mode.
