I've noticd that my system was slowing down on bootup and was hanging
bit recently. This morning it was very bad and i started to receiv
multiple prefetch errors regarding all the Startup items that were bein
loaded. I was unable to clear Prefetch and the system crashed. On reboo
I found that none of the Safe Mode options would work.
I received the following error:
File: \Windows\system32\config\system
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file i
missing, or corrupt
I have tried running the Repair functions from my original DVD but whe
I choose System recovery Options my OS is simply not listed in the box
I tried Start Up Repair but it does not help. I have no System restor
Points or Backups that can be accessed either.
I remember a similar problem with XP that I resolved by restoring th
system backups by mounting the drives with one of the many tools lik
Freedos or something.
Is there any solution other than to reinstall this buggy sack of dun
that is Vista 64 ? The Upgrade option wasn't even highlighted i
recovery. This is about as frustrating as PCs get (AGAIN

!!).
Cheers
