Vista Ultimate and hibernation

Hello all,

I just added to my computer a CardReader 5.25" (33 in one) with multiport
front panel (4x USB 2.0) Icy Box IB 861

Since then, when my computer hibernate I can't wake it up at all. It seems
to work on hard disk but never come back.

I have to switch off power and then I can start Windows new but often I have
to do that more than one time.

When I disconect the internal power cable to the new multi card reader,
everything works again; when PC hibernate I can wake it up like before I
installed this cardreader.

I don't think it's the card reader because I didn't install special drivers.

Vista recognized it without doing something.

What could it be? What can I do?

Any idea?

Many thanks for each input.

Cheers,

Jean-Claude

PS I had no response on this post on vista.hardware_devices that's why I am
trying here!

prob they didn't reply cuz they didn't know how to fix it, my guess look in
device manager to keep this device from sleeping may be then windows waking
up will be better

Hello Jonathan,

Many thanks for your answer.

I was just going to try what you said here but I saw that the "Allow the
computer to turn off this device to save power" is already unchecked.

I tink this come from the power plan where I deactivated the USB selective
suspend setting to try to solve this problem.

So I don't know what other to try!

If you, or somebody else, have one more idea...

It seems that this problem is not a common problem ;-(((
