I get the popup saying I don't have permission but when I follow the
instructs the apply is greyed out.I have spent hours
Googling & trying suggested fixes but no joy.Would it be better to reinstall
& if so which ?upgrade or full. .Also would it be better to reformat ? I
have Vista on a seperate HDD so I have a fallback of xp if needed.
Any help-info is appreciated

If that does not work, boot off your Windows Vista DVD, choose the System
Recovery Option > on the setup window, click Repair Computer > select your
installation > click the Startup Repair option and follow instructions.
