I don't see why not. There must be something else going on. I never had a

I am running VS 2005 and SQL Server 2005 on the same Vista Ultimate machine
with no problems.
The only problems you might have is if you start VS up without using Run As
Administrator, because you won't have permissions to open a project Web Site
on IIS as an example. You'll also have to apply the VS 2005 SP1 for Vista
as well. And IIS7 is not IIS6, and IIS7 has a different look and feel.
Have you heard of TOAD for SQL Sever 2005? It's like SQL 2005 Management but
it's better. As a matter of fact, TOAD is fabulous, and it is free. I am
using TOAD at the job, and you can use Google to look it up and download it.
