Vista Ultimate Menus different?

Are Vista Ultimate Menus different from Vista Home? I used several
howtos on Vista and Linksys to troubleshoot my Dell PC dropping
connection to my local network and the Internet but the menus do not
match my menu sequences. For instance getting a Command Prompt to run
as administrator. Linksys says to click the pearl and then right
click "Start Search". I have "Search". This has happened several
times over the weekend.

Where are you seeing "Search"?
I have both VHP and VU here, and following the instructions you gave, I see
"Start Search" at the bottom of the Start Window after clicking the Start
Button.

When you click Start, the cursor should already be in the white Start Search
box and the bottom of the left column.

Hi Edspyhil,

Right click on the Pearl button and click Properties. Make sure that
you have "Start menu" dotted and not "Classic Start menu" and click OK.

Do you have the white line "Start Search" at the bottom of the Start
menu now?

I think the OP is erroneously looking for a button that says, "Start
Search."

I've noticed that a lot of people I've tried to enlighten about the new
Start Menu never see the words, "Start Search" sitting right there in front
of them.

I'm one of them. Does that appear if one is using Classic
mode?

Hi CWLee,

Sorry, but it there is no "Start Search" area in the Classic Start
menu. You would have to use "Search" -> "For Files or Folders" or "Run"
instead.
