Vista Ultimate, No Audio on HDMI TV

Hello. This has worked for a long time, but suddenly it stopped. I
hook up my TV to my HP Pavilion laptop via an HDMI cable. Picture
works. Sound does not. I have Conextant sound. Yes, I chose SPDIF as
the default in the Control Panel. Yes, I un-installed and re-installed
the sound drivers. What changed since the last time this worked?
Upgraded Vista to Ultimate. HP did a BIOS update. Many Windows
updates, of course. I have been toggling things all day. Nothing
helps. Reading lots of web pages. This is a very common problem with
HDMI from computer to TV. I wonder even if this is broken more than it
works, especially with Vista Ultimate. HP cannot help. Suggestions
from anyone?

I used this HDMI with my TV for more than year with no problem and a
the and - no audio but I found the answer this evening and it worked.
Now I can watch movies again with perfect sound and picture
Please let me know if it will work for you
The problem was in NVIDIA GForce GO 7600 driver
There was an update december 2008 and since then it is not working
Go to Device Manager, NVidia display driver and Rollback the old vide
driver
Then restart and should be OK
