hello
I bought notebook with vista ultimate in winter and I don't have any cd/dvd
but i have a recover partition. I was thinking if there is a way to get
cd/dvd with vista not paying too much cause i don't trust that much to
recover partition and that partition kinda blocks installing another OS.

Buy a second or external drive, and use the Ultimate "Complete PC Backup"
utility. Your Product Key, and install media are very specific to that one
laptop.

Contact the manufacturer of your notebook computer
and request their Windows Vista recovery disc.

There should be a simple way for you to create a recovery DVD from
that partition. Check your MFR website (or your installed system
manual) to find out how to do that.

Once you've done it, you will be able to delete that partition.

There should be instructions in Help and Support placed there by the mfg on
how to make a recovery disc set. If not it will be on the mfg's website.

well sometime ago I wrote to my manufacturer about those cd/dvd's and they
replied that I have installed on my notebook recovery partition etc.
I am curious about if I get somehow a cd/dvd with vista ultimate ie.
torrent, friends or sth, can I use my key that is on the bottom of my
notebook? I mean, can I do it legally?

First of all check your notebook manual. Your PC manufacturer has told you
that the Vista recovery is to be found on a recovery partition on your hard
drive. Usually (see you manual) there is an option to create a recovery DVD.

I certainly wouldn't be downloading Vista from a torrent site because the
resulting download will, undoubtedly be a 'pirated' copy. The product key
number on the base of your notebook may only work with the copy supplied by
the PC manufacturer as the copy of Vista is tied to your machine. With OEM
copies you can't move them to another machine (licence agreement). To stay
legal either check to see if you can create a DVD recovery disc from the
recovery partition or else buy a retail copy of Vista.

Microsoft's idea of "legal"

Force Americans to pay full price for a buggy upgrade.

Trot out Bill Gates who says, it's cool with him for millions of
middle class Chinese that could well afford to purchase a legit copy
of Vista to obtain a pirated copy with Microsoft's full blessing.

Bend over American Bill Gates and Microsoft wants to do you know what
to you. You're suppose to smile and enjoy it.

well i don't want to move my vista to another pc, cause i have a few copies
of msdn aa , I mean generally interested in vista that is on my notebook,
well i opened recovery partition today and there were a few options like
restoring points etc. but i didn't see create a vista cd, I need that DVD
because I don't think that recovery partition would allow me to install
another OS (linux). If this isn't possible or i have to buy another copy, I
will just use some msdn aa copy and before that make a restoring point.
