Vista Ultimate Print Server Problem

I am running the TRENDnet USB Multi Function Printer (MFP) Control Center
(software 2.361, driver 1.37.63) under Vista Ultimate (32 bit). I am
attempting to associate the control center with drivers for a Western Digital
Hard Drive and a Canon CAPT printer operating in the Net USB mode with
universal plug and play enabled. I get the message 'connect device failed'.
The drivers install correctly on other computers in the same network running
Vista Home Premium with the identical control center configuration. The
TE100-MP2U lettering is in blue and the hard driver and printer lettering is
in red, ie the Vista Ultimate computer is communicating with the MFP server.
Any advice on what security/network policies should be changed in Vista
Ultimate to resolve the issue? I have tried disabling user account control,
but that doesn't solve the problem. There is apparently an additional layer
of network security in Vista Ultimate, that is not in Vista Home Premium,
that is interfering with the servers plug and play loading of the USB drivers
for the hard drive and printer. Thanks.

Hi
Did you try to perform the installation as an Administrator.
In Windows Explorer right click on the software and choose Run as an
Administrator.

Jack, when running the program I am logged on as a user with administrative
rights. I also executed the utility program as an administrator. Lastly, as
noted earlier I also tried running the program with UAC disabled. All to no
avail. In any event, the problem is not with the installation of the control
utility but rather with the subsequent interaction of the control utility
with the print server when operating in a Vista Ultimate environment. But
thanks for the suggestion. Jay

I had the same problem as well. Once I updated my print server to the latest version from TrendNet's website, it works like a champ. Good luck!

You need to update your print server firmware to the latest version from
TrendNet. I had the *exact* same problem and the latest firmware fixed
it right up. Good luck!
