Update KB938194 wont install on Vista Ultimate , keep getting error 80070002.
Could somebody please give me a solution as I'm about to go nuts. I've tried
the whole renaming and deleting the Software Distribution folder issue , but
still gives error 80070002.

You may want to look into

Windows Vista Help: Windows Update error 80070002:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...9a75f1033.mspx

You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an
update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server
Update Services:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=910336

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works ºut.

Sorry no help.
I have renamed and deleted and moved and done just about everything you can
do to that Software Distribution Folder but still 80070002 error on that
specific update.
I have downloaded the manual update but that just plain fails with no error
message.

WHEN IS THE SERVICE PACK FOR VISTA BEING RELEASED !!!!!!!!!!

Or is Vista going the same route as Windows ME , into the trash can.

Two causes have been identified for the updates failure to install:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/blog...showentry=1162
See if either of those resolves the issue.
If not then you can check the cbs.log for errors and hopefully, find out
just where the error is occurring:

WINDOWS\logs\CBS\cbs.log

It is a *big* log file. To locate where the error is occurring first
start at the top of the log, click Edit, then Find : KB931894
Then do a Find for ERROR.

80070002 ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
The System cannot find the file specified

The error most likely means that a file in the OS can not be located,
not a file in the downloaded update.
