Here's the short version. Corporate user behind a firewall. testing vista
on the network. Proxy uses authentication to get to the internet including
the windows update site. most users use a sus server for updates, not
(turned on) available for Vista. Windows update cannot get out to the
updates site even though i can successfully get to the internet using my
credentials through IE. Meaning, IE is setup correctly and all the docs that
i read about the windows update say that those are the only settings i need
to set. however, there are no screens to fill in my credentials, and since
the windowsupdate.com site doesn't support vista i'm SOL.
Help.
