Hello, i am a new member and would like to say that this is a very nic
forum with lots of info about Vista

I recently had to reinstall my vista OS, cause one day it would jus
give me a black screen with the mouse cursor and then it would sta
there, i tried to go back to a restore point but it would not let me. S
after attempting other things i decided to reinstall the OS, i did no
format the disc, it is a "new" install, so while installation window
told me that the previous settings and programs will be on a file cal
"windows.old" i would like to know if there a way that i can transfe
some of the applications that i had install and some of the settings.
have several games install on a different hard drive that they will no
run because they are "tide" to the other configuration so i would hat
to have to uninstall them and reinstall them

So...i would like to know if there is something that i can do

Thanks a lot in advance and nice forum

No, you'll need to reinstall the programs from their installation media. You
can copy over data, though.
