While trying to do a Complete PC Back up in Vista Ultimate to USB 2.0 Hard
Drive It fails and I get this: "The Backup Failed
Not all Volumes containing system data are included in the backup.
(0x80780018) shadow copies are possible, but not the full Complete PC Backup
(this could be another incompatiabiliy issue, being that my USB 2.0 Drive is
only a yr. old, but may NOT be Compatiable with Vista) Oh Gheez why doesn't
THAT surprize me!!!.........but I really didn't expect that feature adopted
by MS to be ANYWHERE NEAR as good as Norton Ghost are even TA.............Oh
well time to pruchase TA I suppose...........

Is your C: volume formatted as FAT? That is one case in which I've seen this
error. Try using the wbadmin command-line tool (run from an elevated command
prompt) to just back up your data volumes, not your FAT C: volume.

No I'm using Vista Ultimate, and my C: Volume isn't FAT 32, I was able to
do file shadow backups, but cannot use the complete backup featuer for some
reason?
are you saying that my USB 2.0 HDD has to be FAT32 in order to work? it
worked GREAT w/ Norton Ghost 2003 in XP MCE 2005 & XP PRO/HOME

I never said that the USB drive has to be FAT32...what I said is that I've
seen this error before in which the C: drive was FAT and that's why this
wasn't working. Are you interested in troubleshooting this further?

I found a workaround, but NOT w/ Vista Ultimate's Complete PC Backup, that
didn't work......Here's what I did: booted into DOS w/ my Norton Ghost Boot
Disc, CLONED my C:/ Vista and copied that to my USB 2.0 HHD the Clone is
10.8GB and this only took 18 Minutes.....PROBLEM SLOVED....so much for Vista
Ultimate's Complete PC Backup.....Good Ole Norton Ghost 2003 to the Rescue,
so , if any of you still Have Norton Ghost 2003, it works in DOS, but, not in
Windows Vista, so don't thorw Norton Ghost 2003 AWAY!!!.......it still works,
Hope this Post will help others!!!
