Vista Update Error 8024402C

hey
i have tried most things from this site and the knowledge base article but i
still cant get updates. internet explorer settings are all good. OS is vista
home basic

0x8024402C WU_E_PT_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED Same as
ERROR_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED - the proxy server or target server name
cannot be resolved.
