I was receiving a error (error 80245003) every time I tried to update on my
new paid version of Windows Vista Premium, so it was suggested I make a new
folder call SoftwareDistribution.old and cut the contents of
SoftwareDistribution and transfer them to the .old folder. Now the Update was
able to proceed for the first time. Problem is about a dozen updates failed
to install. Error generating was " WindowsUpdate_800706BA"
Thanks for the help

Here was the solution to this for me;
Run a CHKDSK first
Shut off the System Restore.
This also eliminated the "Host Process has been stopped" error I was
receiving.
