Vista update problem

Hi, I've been trying to install this Vista update and it keeps failing. Is
there anything I should do? I couldn't get anything form the Microsoft
website.

Update for Windows Vista (KB929777)

Download size: 103 KB

You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.

Update type: Recommended

Install this update to address an issue in storport.sys which results in a
system crash when certain hardware configurations exist. After you install
this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Hi,
I found a simple solution that worked on my Dell Windows Vista Business
(found in the Windows Update discussion group), sent in by steve841 as
follows:

"Well ... I found an answer that worked for me....
Here are the steps I took:

Control panel > Programs and Features > View installled updates
REMOVE THE KB29777 that is listed as already being installed...
REBOOT PC
Go to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displayLang=en

Download the KB29777 file manually ... install it.
REBOOT PC

Run Windows update... mine says the update was required ... so I installed.
Next thing I knew ... the reply was "installation successful" ... I have
no more problems!"

This also worked for me. Good luck.
