Vista update problems

I have a Sony Vaio laptop since March of 2007 never had any issues until May
2008 when my first update failed KB947562, I got an error 800705AA. Then all
other updates failed and gave me the same error message. I know have 10
failed Vista updates. SP1 needed to be installed, that update never came in
my auto updates, I went to Microsoft to get it. That also failed same error
message. I called Microsoft the rep claims he didn't understand the error
message, now my computer is running amuck, shut down issues, startup issues,
crahing. I called Sony they want money. I am sorry to say this but before I
give them one brown penny I would check to see if anyone has any idea what
could be the issue. Thanks for any help

800705AA = ERROR_NO_SYSTEM_RESOURCE Insufficient system resources exist to
complete the requested service

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed? What
anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall
(if any)?

anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot, AVG
Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before attempting
to install the update(s). If you disable a third-party firewall, do NOT
connect to the internet without having the Windows Firewall enabled!
