Vista Updates but says I do not have required permission

Has anyone encountered this? Lately, when I go to view Windows
Updates it tells me I do not have the administrative rights to access
the updates page?. I am the sole user of my (Vista Ultimate) pc and I
only work in one account, the one that was set up when i installed
vista. Never had a problem with this before
