Vista url.dll shortcut corrupt

When I create a shortcut to my desktop of a url the default url icon Vista
uses seems corrupt ie it should just be an internet explorer shortcut on my
desktop.

I can change the icon to another icon found in this
file:%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll but the default ie shortcut url is
corrupt.
All I want is for the shortcut to look like the default url/internet
explorer shortcut icon ie XP.

It appears that this setting is in the registry. But that the shell32.dll
file is also located on my d-drive(recovery)

I think what happened was somehow when I transferred my desktop settings
from my XP system to my Vista laptop that this functionality was corrupted.
I was able to transfer over a bunch of internet shortcuts that maintained
the correct appearance.. they are located: C:\Windows\system32\url.dll. when
I look properties/web document/change icon of the icon but most of these
desktop ie shortcuts are only showing that generic shortcut looks like a
desktop with six dots.

I have not been able to fix this issue. Should I use system restore? or can
I copy this file:%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll from my Vista install
disc into my registry?

Seems as thu only the url.dll is corrupt within the whole set of icons
located at: %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dl..but I cant access this file.

thanks for any help Lee
