I have Vista home premium installed. I transfered all my old files and
settings across from my old machine running XP.

I have an administrator user account however am unable to create any
other accounts. It say UAC is turned on, but when I try to create an
account nothing happens. I can't even see the guest account or turn it
on.

Has anyone had any similar problems or know why this is happening.

Regards
Chris

Hi Chris,

Transferring the XP settings may have been the problem. Files are
usually ok to copy over. It is usually best to do a clean install with
Vista from XP to prevent possible compatibility issues. This tutorial
will show you how to do a clean install with a Upgrade version of Vista.

You can also try to do a Repair Install first to see if it will fix the
problem. This tutorial will show you how.
