I do not know how HP deals with System Repair. Not sure what the
" Windows Vista System Recovery Disk " will do.
Advise you to heed the above advice before preceding.
Having NAV preinstalled and/or removing it may be the culprit with the
updating issue from the get go.

It appears that the system can not recoginize the validity of the
update's digital signature. That's what I take away from it.
Just for the heck of it, let's give this a shot:
1. Click Start, type cmd in the Start Search box, and then click Command
Prompt under Programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation,
type the password, or click Allow.
Note If you do not have administrator rights and permissions, start the
Command Prompt program by right-clicking Command Prompt, clicking Run as
administrator, and then typing administrator credentials.
2. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
reg delete HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty
If the command prompt stays open, type in
exit
Press Enter
Restart the system and see if it can update
