Vista Windows Update wont load

Recently I have tried to run Windows Update only to find that it does not
even load. I have tried going through the start menu and clicking windows
update through the programs menu but only a flash of a box appears. (The
icon in both the programs and the control panel for windows update is missing
so that leads me to believe it lost the program somehow. Though through the
properties menu is still has this as the target:
%SystemRoot%\system32\wuapp.exe)

I just would like to know if there's an easy fix, or if I can be directed to
somewhere where I can download windows update.
