I made some silly mistakes in the Bios settings and cleared the CMOS to get
things back to normal. The Bios settings have returned to default but now
Vista doesn't boot up.

I get as far as the screen that lists CPU type and Ram etc with press del
for setup and F8 for boot menu. That lasts for about half a second and then
all I get is a blank screen with a white flashing cursor in the top left hand
corner.

Hope someone can help me or I'm totally shafted. Thanks

Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.

Hi,

If you're running sata drives, you might have set it to the wrong mode when
you reset defaults. Check and see ahci/ide mode and try swappng them.

Hi there,

Yeah I have two sata drives with a raid setup. I will look for something in
the Bios like you suggest. So try swapping IDE mode for AHCI?

It's ok, I've sorted it now. Raid wasn't enabled in the Bios, that's all it
was.

Cool, glad you got it. Anytime you reset the BIOS, you gotta watch for
things like that.
