I had a similar problem with Vista using a VPN. The VPN would work using XP,
but not Vista. Took a long time to track down, but in the end turned out to
be MS-CHAP settings. The firewall at the business needed configuring to allow
MSChap v2 as well as 1. Once this was done, it worked a treat.
The Remote Desktop was never the issue for us, but without the VPN (pptp
VPN) it wouldn't have a chance.
