Vista won't sleep when on AC power and screensaver on

I have Vista Home Premium. If I have the screen saver set to come on, the
computer won't enter sleep state if attached to AC power. However, it works
fine on battery.

I don't have any wireless devices attached.
I already changed it to allow to sleep in multimedia settings.

It works fine when I set screen saver to none. I can do this but it is a
bit annoying.

Any ideas?
Thanks !

Could it be that UPS (Uninterruptible power supply) might be of help? I
doubt though.

The issue might be that your power options are not set up properly. Vista
knows when you use the battery and therefore makes a decision for you to
save the it.

You may try to change the power plan to power saver instead of high
performance (if it set up this way), see if it helps.

Control Panel >> System and Maintenance >> Power Options >>

Just a thought.

Thanks, I have scoured the power settings. I guess I'm not sure what
specific setting to change and I don't want to just go rampaging through the
advanced settings.
Can anyone help me pinpoint the culprit?
Thanks!
