shut down normal working system.
When bootingback up it comes up with the small green moving bar at the
bottom, screen goes to sleep, white mouse pointer appears on black screen,
and then nothing. If I move the mouse the pointer moves but black screen
remains.
have booted the installer disk and tried repairing but same result (and have
done this about 4 times)
tried every mode of safe mode but just the same result
tried another disk and can install on to it, so doubt it's a hardware
problem as system works just fine after that.
Tried booting and doing an install on the disk that doesn't work but Vista
won;t let you do that.
I can take the disk and put it on another system and can see all the files
but no idea how to fix or what to look at.
Any ideas how I can get this going without haveing to do a fresh install and
restore all those apps (ughhhh)
