Afternoon All,
I wonder if someone can help me. We currently run 3 X Windows 2000
Server SP4 servers with Active Directory. The clients are a mixture of
Windows XP SP1 and SP2 clients. We have just bought 3 new PC's with Windows
Vista Business installed. After realising the roaming profiles didn't
download, I found on the net how to use folder redirection to get it to work
on both Vista and XP clients. This now works fine (although I've only tested
it on one Vista PC) My problem is this. When doing the folder redirection
setup, I had to do this in the Vista workstation. and this uses different
MMC snapins than the Windows 2000 Admin Pack that's installed on my current
XP machine.
Is there an available download to install the new admin pack to include
the new vista options in Group Policy amongst other things and is this
available via a windows 2000 server? Do I need to upgrade the AD Schema to
accommodate the new vista options?
Also while doing the Group Police folder redirection update on the vista PC,
I read that the new ADMX files should be stored on the network so all vista
PC's can access them, but I've had a look in the netlogon share and I can't
find any ADMX files. Does this mean when I setup the new Vista machine, it
won't download the settings as they are local on the first Vista PC? or are
the integrated within AD somewhere and will work on all Vista machines now?
Hope someone can help!
Thanks
Dave
