Ok this is really annoying, I have a 30GB C:/ drive and Vista keep
expanding by the second, the WINDOWS folder is 20 GB

winsxs = 8 G
System32 = 3.3 G
SoftwareDistribution = 2.5 G
SysWOW64 = 1 G

Is this normal? And how can I free some stuff up? I want to remove thi
winsxs folder (I don't need any updates)

That is normal. You could disable system restore. Vista does requir
40GB for OS + RAM. I started with 56GB due to 16GB of RAM. It move
the paging file of 16GB to E: once created

Hmm, I see. What about the hibernation file that takes up 3.5 GB fo
hibernation? How do I disable that

What is this "16GB of RAM" you talk about?

RAM is the wrong term, if you're talking about reserved/used space for
system restore points.

And it would only be 16GB if one had a 110GB drive, because Vista uses
15% of the drive for restore points unless the user has changed that.

In the OP's case, abaout 4 gigs would be used.

You do not know what 16GB of RAM means or what? He's got a high end
twin-quad core Xeon system with 16GB of ECC and registered RAM. Look at his
website.

You seem to like making a fool out of yourself with people that clearly know
a lot more about computers than you do.

I'll admit that I know nothing about x64... I'm not afraid of being
wrong or of admitting it.

Speaking of admitting being wrong: when are you gonna retract your
calling me a liar? You've had plenty of time to view the proof you
requested several days ago.
