Hi there, this is my first post, i've searched for similar threads bu
can't find one that matches my problem. A few days ago I tried to star
my copy of Lightroom but nothing happened - irritating, it thought it'
just gone wrong, then I found that some of my other stuff had starte
cracking up too; iTunes, Internet explorer and a few others, althoug
firefox seems to work fine - if i leave it long enough however, an
we're talking about 20 minutes sometimes, the app might suddenly start!
Also the desktop sometimes crashes if i try to start to many apps whic
get 'stalled
I can see their processes in the task manager however and can sto
them. I did a virus scan and found nothing, I then used Spybot (no
used since i had XP so it required an install) - the install took abou
25 minutes, then it took about 7 minutes from clicking on the icon to i
starting running - after a scan; nothing but the usual cookies fro
websites. Even after a system restore to about a week ago it's stil
the same
In general the machine seems quite responsive and it's reasonably wel
specced, Dual core AMD, 4GB ram, Geforce 86xx, vista ultimate x64, n
weird cards in there or anything - and the machine was runnin
perfectly. The only real change i made was to set up a passworde
account so my wife's mac could access the printer over the network
Has anyone else had a problem like this? - i'm really resisting
re-instal
