On a clean Vista Business eddition
I installed SQL SERVER 2005 (Developer edition) as default instance
Ran windows update and install SQL Server SP2 & Visual Studios SP1.
SQL Server Managment studio usies Visual Studio 2005 Premier edition
( I think as i didn't install the Visual Studio 2005 software)
Visual Studios SP1 failed after repeated attempts with error #665 (or
somthing close)
Tried and couldn't login or access SQL using SQL Manager with windows
authentication
(at this stage i decided to try install Visual Studios 2008 Professional
edition and
using SQL express (included by default with the install))
Installed Visual Studios 2008 Professional Edition
I can now access SQL 2005 Developer edition and SQL Express edition (cool

,
the install must of changed somthing im not aware of as this has been the
hardest install i've had to do)
Re Ran windows update and install Visual Studios 2005 SP1 again
Again it failed
??? can i uninstall Visual Studios 2005 Premier edition-enu
which encludes Visual Studios 2005 (Currently not functional SP1 required)
Visual Studio 2005 docummentation
Visual Studio tools - remote debuggers)
or will it break SQL manager
I do not want to have to reformat and reinstall everything
