Visual studio 2008 security Update KB972221 no go!

I have installed this update for my visual studio 2008 professional edition
more than 16 times in the last week or so and although it says it was
successful it remains as a notification that it is to be installed on my
Windows vista ultimate, why?
How can I get rid of it from the notification status as it is flagged
important and I now do not know if any other important updates are required
as I now ignore the tray icon!
Your help with this 2nd posting of this problem would be greatly appreciated
so that my security is no longer compromised by Microsoft vista's updating
process.

Best guess, based on the case of another user with a similar problem, is that it
hasn't installed properly even if it thought it did.

Please look at the "File Information" section of the KB article:

and compare the dates and version numbers given to the files that are on your
computer. Let us know what the dates and version numbers are on your computer.
