I downloaded this and installed it "successfully" but where is it?
There's no icon, just a directory in Program Files.

Ignore the word "beta" above.

Did you try running the Installer with elevated priviledges? Right click >
Run as Administrator

I know there are individual Express Editions for VB, C#, C++, and Web that
you can install. Where did you get a VS 2005 Express install?

Thanks, but it made no difference. What is the name of the executeable I am
looking for?

Well, if its a single installer package, I am not sure what else to tell. Is
it a possibility it can be extracted and browse the contents where you might
see a Setup.exe file, right click it and Run as Administrator? Other than
that, you just have to wait until someone more knowledgeable comes along or
try post the issue in a the VS ng:
microsoft.public.vstudio.setup

VS 2005 Express is not like VS 2005 professional or standard editions, where
all the .Net languages are combined into one solution or one setup.exe.

Each VS 2005 Express edition is a standalone solutions that must be
downloaded and installed individually.

VBsetup.exe is for VB.Net,

VCSsetup.exe is for C#.Net

VWDsetup.exe is for Web development.

There are two others like C++, and I can't think the last one is for F#.net.
but I don't use them.
