I have no sound on my computer.......would like a step by step . to repair my
sound

You did not include any details such as operating system or sound card.

Reseat and check all audio cables, do not forget speaker power.
Check the Volume Control and make sure all are up and none muted.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume Control
Check the Advanced and check if "Digital Output Only" is checked or
not...change it.

Go to the website of sound card/computer manufacturer and get the latest
sound drivers.
