Hi,

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate on my home computer. While at the
console of that computer, when i connect to the VPN of my office, the
internet works fine.
When i am on the road, and i connect into my home computer via RDC and the
VPN to the office is disconnected, it works fine.
But, when connected to my home computer via RDC and i connect the home
computer to the VPN in the office, it disconnects the RDC session, and i
cannot reconnect until i terminate the VPN session.
In the VPN connection's settings, under TCPIP V4 and TCPIP V6 i made sure to
uncheck "use default gateway on remote network"

any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Albert

Well, that's because when you initiate VPN connection from your home
computer, it changes its network location to be included in your
office's network. It's like if it was physically connected to your
office network. And as Windows sets the VPN connections as default when
active, your home computer doesn't respond anymore to your RDP requests
(it actually does, but from the IP address it got through VPN).

It would be simpler to connect to your office's VPN directly from your
laptop when travelling, but I suppose you'd have to convince the admins
there.

i unchecked "use default gateway on remote network" so it is not using the
VPN connection for internet traffic.
this arrangement worked fine under windows XP pro
