VPN, Vista and Internet

When I open a VPN connection to my office database I loose all connectivity
to the web, email etc;

Any ideas what might be causing this?

I never had this problem with my XP machine so I'm guessing there is a
setting somewhere in Vista.

Not a techie here but would really appreciate some help.

has the person who manages your VPN gateway turned off "split tunnel"

or is there a setting in your VPN client software that defines whether split
tunnel is allowed.

I have the same problem, i found this site. I haven't tried it yet, i need to
talk the system administrator at this point.
