We're trying to use the VSS service on Vista (x64) and getting the
following error in the event log for "vssadmin list volumes":
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Error calling a routine on a Shadow
Copy Provider {b5946137-7b9f-4925-af80-51abd60b20d5}.
Routine details
IVssSnapshotProvider::QueryVolumesSupportedForSnap shots(ProviderId,
29,...) [hr = 0x8000ffff].
"vssadmin list writers" and "vssadmin list providers" both work fine.
We've tried the component reregistration solution offered elsewhere
and it seems to "work" but the problem doesn't go away. Can anyone
help?
