W2000 Disk Cleanup (cleanmgr.exe) stops working after wupdate 13oc

Anybody else having problems with Disk Cleanup after applying security udates
distributed by WUPDATE on october 13?

Disk Cleanup starts normally - goes into "Disk Cleanup is calcutating how
much space you will be able to free on (C." and procedes to "Scanning:
Compress old files". After a fair amount of time all disk activity stops
(the normal is that I can hear fairly constant disk activity at this point)
and does noe restart if left alone for a l-o-o-o-ng time (hours). The program
does not move beyond the "Scanning: Compress old files" stage

Using the Cancel button closes the window, but does not end the process.
Checking with Task Manager after a fairly long wile I find cleanmgr.exe still
loaded using 80-97% CPU. It seems to me that the program has gone into an
endless loop.

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer
yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the
file and selecting Edit.
