W2K - Rollup 1 for SP4

Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 Sp4 server running Terminal Server.
When I place the TS server in install mode and install the Rollup1 for
Sp4 patch (KB891861) via windows update, I receive a message that the
patch has been applied successfully.
However, when I restart the PC and re-run Windows update, the Rollup
patch is re-displayed for installation along with KB823353 "Cumulitive
Update for Outlook Express 6 SP1".
I have re-installed the Rollup patch from Windows Update and from a
download on the local machine may time, but the patch is never installed
sucessfully, eventhough the setup program reports that it has been.
I need to resolve this as there are other patches that are not being
applied as the Rollup patch has not been installed correctly.

The user account has admin local right to the workstation (I have also
made the account part of the Domain Admins group to test), so it
shouldn't be an issue with rights.

Hi,

Please (re)install MDAC 2.8 SP1, MSXML 3.0 SP7 and MSXML 4.0 SP2 and
see if that helps on reoccurring install of KB891861 (Update Rollup 1
for Windows 2000 SP4)

Hi,

Reinstalling IE6 Sp1 and the below mentioned patches seems to have
resolved my problem.
