W2K update problem

My Windows 2000 machines (server and clients) won't download automatic
updates from the updates website. The status animation just hangs and in the
end I receive the following error code: 0x80072F78.

I am not having this problem with my XP clients and 2003 server. I did set
up my W2K clients to download the updates unattended through the automatic
updates client in the control panel. This seems to work. However, this
setting on the W2K server causes its SVCHOST.EXE process to eat up almost
100% of the CPU time.

Has anyone else seen these problems?

Please ignore my duplicate posting. The first post gave an error that led me
to believe it wasn't going to be posted.
