Hi,

is there a log that will be written when unattend.txt is applied during
setup. my unattend.txt is not applied as expected and I want to find out
what went wrong.

Thanks,
Gunter

Hello Gunter,

If you start a destination computer from a product CD and the answer file
is on a floppy disk, you must name the answer file Winnt.sif. Setup will
then detect the answer file on the disk without user input.

Hi Meinolf,

i am more looking for setup log information that is written during the
unattended setup. Is there a debug log that will be written and which I can
use to troubleshoot the application of my unattend.txt file.

thanks,
Gunter

Hello Gunter,

Here it is,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Gunter,
The primary log files should be the setupact.log or the setuplog.txt.
The unattended file should be picked up and copied to the
\windows\system32\$winnt$.inf during setup ( product keys, usernames and
passwords are deleted from this file)
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

You should think about using a newsreader like outlook express or windows
mail. There are also some other freeware newsreader. Additional you are able
to crosspost with them instead of multiposting the same question to different
NG's.
