Wallpaper is disabled

I had a Malware alert pop-up on my computer today. I scanned & removed the
infections but my desktop wallpaper vanished & now I cant get a picture to
appear on my desktop. What's going on & how do I fix it?

Oh no. Did you install the 'anti-malware' software that this popup
suggested?
