It never ceases to amaze me that folks who don't know what they're doing,
try to do it anyway. To quote B. Franklin: "Experience is a good teacher,
but fools will learn no other way." (I'm not calling you a fool... that's
what the quote says... but one would think one would "do" due
diligence -prior- to engaging in such an endeavor. Guess not.)
Since you can't determine your Vista key, regardless of whether it's ethical
to install the same CD on two computers, which of course, it's not, and you
don't have an XP CD with which you can downlevel that PC, I must assume that
your only option at present is to either purchase a Vista key from MS or
purchase an XP retail CD. Or... get an XP CD from the vendor of your "old
computer."
