To my great surprise this is news to some people who only play solitaire all
day or only use their computer to troll in this newsgroup (see frank).

If you are thinking about installing SP1 in a virtual machine DO NOT SIT AND
WAIT FOR IT TO BE DONE!

You will grow old before you know it, its better to watch grass growing!
Start the install, then go to bed, leave the Virtual machine to do its thing
all night,
then the next day Vista will be updated...

now compare this with XP in a virtual machine.. it needs only 30 mins to
install a service pack!

Oh by the way...

if you even have the courage to SHRINK the VM drive in VMWARE *this is a
function of the vmware tools) be ready to go for a long vacation then
perhaps when you have come back it will have finished! lol

Its amazing.. its been hours and hours and its still trying..

Oh vista is slow, bloated, a pig with lipstick!

Try it without using a Virtual Machine. Mine took ~30 minutes, tops. It does
take a while, but it was worth it. Maintenance on your car takes a while,
why shouldn't it take a while on your PC?

I HAVE tried without a virtual machine again its far slower than ANY other
OS I have ever seen...

Linux, XP you name it...

the virtual machine just magnifies this and really shows how slow vista
really is...

ITS CRAP!

Why do I bother? Well... I have to know everything about vista, even though
its crap.

I Tried Updating A Clean Install Of Windows Vista RTM With The 45 Security
Related Updates, I Did Not Even Attempt To Use The Hack To Get Service Pack
One On There (The 45 Security Related Updates Took So Long That I Almost
Wanted To Rip My Eye Balls Out of My Head, Just Sitting There, and Staring
At The Non-Progressing Computer Screen), That I Just Plain Removed Windows
Vista RTM, And Installed Microsoft Windows Server 2008 RTM, Just FYI. P.S.
This Was A Non-Virtual-Machine Install, Also Just FYI.

<use their computer to troll in this newsgroup>

Much like you are doing now. Just because you are too stupid to get Vista to
run on your machine.
Moron.

Have You Tried Downloading All 45 Security Related Updates From A Windows
Vista RTM Clean Install Lately?

With All Of The People Who Are Using Microsoft's Hack To Get Service Pack
One Earlier Than March (Something That Only The Microsoft Connect Windows
Vista Service Pack One Beta Tester's Were Supposed To Have Access To), Both
Windows Vista Update, And Microsoft Update Have Been As Slow As A Turtle
(Sort of Reminds Me Of The Turtle's Advertising Just How Slow DSL Is In Some
Of Comcast's Latest Commercial's), Just FYI.

New != capable. There are lots of inexpensive PC's being sold to day that
don't have the grunt to run Vista properly.
