A way to avoid M$ Genuine (dis)Advantage Validation Crap

I go to the update page. As of today, it will not list the updates
I'm supposed to have. It mandates that I download and install
KB892130 -- the validation tool. There are no links to a manual
download or to the KB article.

I downloaded a validation tool a year ago and it worked fine (on my
desktop). Why another?

I'm afraid of Microsoft and their updates. I like to step carefully,
check things out beforehand, etec. etc. I am not a thief. (Was it
Nixon who said that?) -- No he said he wasn't a crook. I think he
lied.

Is there a way to get a listing of recommended or critical updates
WITHOUT doing this KB892130 Validation crap?

Hi Fishy, I downloaded and installed this update last night at home, there
wasn't a problem.
If you're concerned about problems, create a system restore point prior to
the update.

Thanks. I heard it couldn't be uninstalled, so I figured it was
sneaky enough to weasel out of a restore point. You're SURE I can get
rid of the damn thing if it messes up my system?

A restore point should get you out of it providing you have no other problems
with your computer and the restore point works.

DON'T install the latest UPDATE to KB892130.

I will be spending the rest of the night re-loading older backup image files
to our machines because the new WGA Update? immediately started playing havoc
and interfereing with our Nvidia video card drivers on our LCD screens. Same
issue and complaints on other News Groups all over the net.

Can you imagine what the first (6) months will be like after Vista is rolled
out ??

So tired of re-imaging these machines after installing MS faulty Updates?
that I'm about to purchase all MACs !!!

I don't like the fact that MS has now required us to prove our innocence
five times now but I have an nvidia graphics card, downloaded this new
WGA and have had no problems at all.
