If computing is your life you do need to get out and about a little!

I gave it a try. Locked up on the live cd and on install. Hardy did install
on the same hardware but it had crappy wireless support.

Ibex seems to have broken something.

Maybe 9.04 will be the future of computing. Not....

Worked OK here...and it recognized my Realtek Wireless adapter out of the
box. Also Open Office 3 (which is an easy upgrade) will open Office 2007
documents.....I'm not going to leave Vista yet, but the future is looking
tempting.....

I keep hearing how well it works "here". I have never been able to get
Ubuntu to work right on that spare computer. From 6.04 up to 8.10. There is
always been some sort of hardware conflict, video, lan, wireless, monitor.
And without wireless I cant get any updates as this is the only way I can
connect to the net.

Windows on the other hand has always worked on any hardware I have put
together.
Not saying it is perfect but it will install and work.

You seriously should power down your computer and go donate your time to the
YMCA. Nobody needs to use Ubuntu. If you want real work done, use a real
Operating System like Vista or XP.

Ubuntu was created by geeks for geeks who can't get laid.
