Man,i was getting wound up with this one.A whole weekend gone trying to get
things running again.However,there is a solution if your error codes are the
same as mine

That may well be the case Carey,but it has taken me a whole weekend of
frustration to undo what the v5 client did to my machine after installing
it.I cannot consider it a successful roll out as far as i am concerned.What
should have been a one button operation turned into a quest to even get a
sniff of the first error code,and all those reports were in Windows
Server,not XP Home.
And,in fact,it lead to me being in this news group forthe first time
ever,and visiting more help and support pages than is healthy for my back.
My problem is not an isolated one either,as can be seen by the traffic in
here..I just think that a betterjob could have been done.I'm not at all
impressed.

machines.

I suggest you post any errors you're getting, and post 'em with less
vitriol, and perhaps you'll get some help resolving them....help from
*volunteers* who are offering to help others, in their spare time. :-)

After working for 3 hours to make it work I agree.

But how about the kajillion non-tech savvy people who are having issues?
Most don't know this newsgroup exists. What are they to do?

This is by no means pointed to you, as you have helped at least 2 kajillion
people (myself included) But I think you get the idea where I am coming
from.

Microsoft really should set higher standards for itself. The best ever isn't
hard to achieve given Microsoft's track record. A million monkeys typing a
